Canon EF S 24mm f/2.8 STM Lens Review
Introduction: Canon EF S 24mm f/2.8 STM Lens is a tiny looking F2.8 prime lens.
It gives a fixed focal length of 24mm which is equivalent with the full frame of 38.4mm. The build quality of the lens is excellent. It has a metallic structure.
Its size and build make it very convenient and portable lens. The ring focus can be automatically controlled by the lens’s focus mechanism.
The narrow focus ring is quite smooth to control. This is a wide angle camera lens and appropriate for general photography.
Performance: As a kit lens it shows an impressive performance when it comes to aperture. And even in the low light, it improves the image. F2.8 aperture helps to shoot in the night with faster shutter speed.
The bokeh is good but as it is a wide angle lens, in that case, you need to be more close to the object for better bokeh. The sharpness and the brightness of the image look quite decent.
Compatibility: This 24mm lens is an EFS lens. So, it is compatible with Canon’s less expensive APS-C cameras like 700 D, 1200 D, 6 T D, 7 T D or 7 D series, etc. It will not fit into Canon’s expensive cameras.
Additional features: STM autofocus motor creates a buzzing sound. At the higher aperture, there is no problem with vignette or distortion. Amazon provides 10 days of replacement without giving a warranty.
