Seagate Backup Plus 5 TB Review
Design: There is not many companies can do when it comes to designing an external hard drive, but Seagate has managed to give it a nice textured, modern aluminium finish.
It offers three colors to choose from: black, silver and light blue. On the front side, you can find the branding and an indicator light. On the flip side, you will find a label containing capacity and compliance.
Storage: Under a great looking drive, it stores 5TB of data which can be accessed in a smooth manner thanks to USB 3.0 technologies.
Performance: It also offers support to legacy devices supporting USB 2.0 tech. It doesn’t require any external source of power and can directly be plugged and start working off with.
Plus, it has cross-platform compatibility with both Microsoft and MacOS. Just install NTFS drivers on Mac and it will be ready to be used.
Additional Features: One of the standout features is that one can directly connect it to his or her social media accounts to take regular backups of data from YouTube and Facebook like websites.
It also offers their own portable drive through which you can save some of your data on cloud and access it on the go. They also provide you with their own management software for better management of data on user’s side.
- Good material build and finish.
- Can be easily used with your Playstation 4 without much configuration.
- Works smoothly and interchangeably with Windows and Mac, doesn’t require frequent formatting.
- Poor Sales Support
- Only 4.54 TB available out of 5TB.
- Bit bulky to hold and carry around.
If you have major data to be carry around and are looking for a good aesthetic looking device to carry the data along, this is one good option to look out for. Although you don’t get the total 5TB of space for usage, their inbuilt tools and functionalities can help you manage data effectively and overcome the space shortage.
