WD My Book 4TB Review
Design: Compared to earlier models, it is small and lightweight in build. Earlier it used to have a model design based on a book, but now with angled corners, it gives a more stylish finish.
It is meant to be placed vertically. And accordingly, it is provided with two rubber strips at bottom for better grip.
Storage: It offers 4TB of storage which usually sustains most of your important data: images, videos, games etc.
Performance: For cold storage, that is data that need not require access more often ,it offers respectable speeds. Since it is meant for desktop, it requires external power source and external power adapter.
Additional Features: It packs with WD’s inhouse security software along with AES hardware encryption so that your data doesn’t get corrupted or fall under the wrong hands.
It also offers WD Backup software through which you can store data on the cloud. Combined with TrueImage application built specifically for the tool, one can schedule regular backups of the data as well.
- Huge data storage which satisfies most of your needs.
- Can be used directly out of the box.
- Many in built accompanying services for better functionality.
- Requires external power source.
- One can’t figure out if the device is on or not.
- Quality is poor of the accompanying accessories.
My Book offers you big and reliable data storage. But at the same time, it comes with a less functional design as well. If you care more on the data than the accompanying features, then this is the option you should look out for.
