Yongnuo 50mm Lens Review
Introduction: The outer design of the Yongnuo 50mm lens is quite similar to an old Canon lens. There is one switch on the lens for choosing either autofocus or manual focus.
When you buy it for the first time, they provide a plastic-made film on the rear lens for protection.
The moment you decide to click pictures, you have to remove that plastic layer from the lens to get quality photographs. This lens is not very compact though it is quite light.
At the front, there is a narrow ring for manual focus. It gives a fixed focal length of 50mm and the aperture is 1.8mm with a good quality of bokeh.
Performance: Yongnuo 50mm Lens produces a quite high quality picture with its fixed focal length and its sharpness. Distortion is absent in the lens.
The lens is made with different layers to increase the light transmission which is absolutely impressive for taking breathtaking pictures.
The appropriate apertures let the lens to have the brightness even in the low light.
Compatibility: This lens is compatible with most of the canon cameras like 5D, 7D, 60D, 70D, T3, T3i, T5, T5i, Plus etc.
Additional features: Canon 50 mm f/1.8 STM is quite similar to Yongnuo 50mm as far as sharpness is concerned.
The sharpness is more than good and you get excellent pictures. It provides only 10 days of replacement.
- It can create the same quality of the image like Canon.
- It weighs very light, only 120gm.
- It is 50% less expensive than Canon.
- At higher aperture, the sharpness is less.
- Autofocus is noisy.
- It lacks the warranty facility.
This is a quite remarkable and cheap lens with excellent bokeh and sharpness. It is quite cheap than other 50mm lenses but yes at the higher aperture the performance can be a little less positive. But none the less, at this price you may not get a 50mm lens in the market.
